Following a number of discussions over the past two weeks, the club is delighted to announce the appointment of Garry Kay as first-team manager. Garry a former player of Rimington Football Club, has experience in management and coaching at various levels. He is looking forward to working with the players and making the most of the ambition and potential of the club. Garry will be supported by former Clitheroe FC coach and Hurst Green reserve team manager Arron Ripley and Andrew Hargreaves, who previously played for the club, moving to the States to coach, working his way up to technical director of Albion Soccer Club San Diego.
The new management team is committed to rejuvenating Rimington Football Club with local players while promoting the development of youth players from the reserve team and U18s.
The committee is really excited about this appointment and is actively working with the management team to prepare for the new season, recruiting players and preparing for pre-season friendlies.
Chairman Terry Braithwaite said "I want to welcome Garry, Arron and Andrew back to the club. I can only hope they are successful, but more importantly, that they enjoy being back at Rimington and put us back where we belong.
Garry said "Gives me great pleasure to be offered the first team manager job at Rimington. Having played here for many years I have a great attachment to the club and cannot wait to get started!
I will be bringing an abundance of experience with me as my coaching team with Aaron and Andrew and look forward to putting the club back on the map.
