After a promising career with Morecambe and Blackpool FC was cut short by injuries, Kersh joined Rimington FC in 1998 and has since become an integral part of the club.

As a player, Kersh has made over 500 appearances for Rimington FC, captaining the side from 2000-2007 and again from 2014-2015. His impressive playing record and commitment to the club have earned him a place among the greats of Rimington Football Club.
