What a season for these young, tange men, who should be very proud of what they have achieved. 2 semi-finals, 1 cup final, 1 cup victory, and a strong finish in the league were only bettered by first teams.

The final wow, what a game, Rimmy Reserve playing against a Waddington team littered with first-teamers and experienced grown men. We stayed true to our beliefs and played our way, trusted the young men, and let the football do the talking.

The first half was a competitive affair, with both teams working hard on a big pitch. Rimington had two glorious chances to take the lead. The first through Clarkson, after great work by Roberts to cross into the box, only for Clarkson to blaze over the bar. The next 10 minutes were all Rimington, and there was a good spell of pressure, which led to Dugdale running clean through from a Kiss flick, the keeper made a good save.

Against the run of play, Waddington broke, and Meyer, making a last ditch tackle, was judged to have fouled the Waddington forward, resulting in a penalty that was dispatched with ease.

The next 10 minutes, Waddington was on top. As Rimington tried to gain control of the game, this time against the run of play, Rimington scored with a world-class strike through young James Whitworth, lobbing the keeper from at least 40 yards to equalise, the goal of the game by a long distance. This gave Rimington the lift they needed, and great work again by the tireless Yates, Dugdale, led to Kiss racing through and smashing past the keeper, the lead was no more than Rimington deserved.
Just before halftime, an injury to Waddington's Wilkinson stopped play. All at Rimington wish him a speedy recovery. Rimington held out for a 2-1 lead at halftime, and the lads had put in a monumental shift all across the pitch.

The second half saw Waddington make a flurry of changes, and this saw us lose a bit of control in the game. As we began to tire, on came Hutchinson and Blackburn to give us some control and energy back in midfield and up front, Amin for kiss, who had run himself into the ground. The changes seemed to do the trick as Hutchinson was immediately involved to cross for Amin to smash past the keeper.

The final goal was once again set up by young George Hutchinson and was finished by Alfie Clarkson smashing the ball home to win his personal duel with the skipper. All across the pitch, the boys were absolutely immense.

Waddington scored a late consolation goal to make it 4-2, but this victory was well earned and well deserved. Who said you can't win anything with kids!
